1. Well first off all thank you for your time. Now tell us a
bit about yourself, where you are from etc.

My pleasure to be here:) Well, my name is Loganarts. I am from Brazil and i´m 28 years old. I just got hired by the biggest cg studio in my country and I'm taking Wings there with me LOL. Thats pretty much it:)

2. When did you first get involved with 3D, and what was the first 3D application used?

I started using a 3d app in january of 2001. The first 3d app I opened in my life was Infini-d 4.5. 2 months later I moved to Rhinoceros 1.0 and its NURBS and five months later I finnaly moved to Lightwave 6.5b. Now, so far I am using wings 3d and messiah studio rev8b for personal work..

3. Most of us have seen some of the great models you have created with Wings3D. What makes Wings3D different to other applications you used?

Hey thanks a lot!!! Wings 3d approach to modeling is simply the best I've seen (together with Lightwave´s). It allows the artist to be very close to the mesh and tweak her in a very fast and confident way. also has some amazing and unparallel tools such as the virtual mirror and the amazing smart hightlights. With those and all the other tools an artist can pull off a very organic and detailed character in no time having a lot of fun
during the whole process.
.

4 . Please briefly describe your modeling process.

Well I start with a box and end up with a complete character from that. LOL  Seriously, I like to model the volume of the character first using extrude most of the time. Then I start shaping the bone structure or bone loops using extrude edges and bevel edges as well as connect, dissolve etc. Then I move to muscle loops, then fat loops and finally character loops like skin folds etc. using the same tools all the time and with virtual mirror always on.

5. How has Wings changed your workflow, and what other programs do you use alongside it?

Well the modeling process is basically the same in any sub-d app but I had a really hard time with Lightwave's symmetry. Lightwave happens to have a serious error in symmetry algorithm which makes you lose the symetrical property from time to time using tools with falloff like dragnet, for example. In Wings Virtual Mirror is just a piece of cake to set and deal with, plus the ability to tweak the mesh in any side of the mirror is great. You wont find this in Lightwave.
Alongside Wings I use Messiah Studio for personal work. It is a terrific texturing, rendering and animating system. At work I am gonna start using Softimage XSI 3.0 since I just got hired by the company that uses it.

6. Any chance of doing a full character modeling tutorial for us?

Definatelly !!! I am dying to make a timelapse. The problem is the software I use to capture the avi files slows my workflow a lot!!! But I promise that the day I have patience enough to model in slow motion I'm gonna make one :)

7. Thanks again for the time, and good luck in the future mate.

Thank you for having me as a guest and I wish you guys all luck in the world too :)
Cheers loggie
